It’s Time to Submit Your Self-Study Form by Aug. 1 – Tips and Resources From the WVU Provost’s Office

With the Academic Transformation process now underway, all WVU departments and academic units with programs identified for further review are reminded to submit their self-study forms by the end of the day on Aug. 1.

In response to feedback, the Provost’s Office has provided several points of clarification regarding the self-study process, as well as updates to the form itself. In addition, faculty and staff have been invited to submit their own feedback for each unit’s self-study. Read on for the full rundown of the self-study process and what you need to do to ensure your unit is compliant.

Overview of the Self-Study Form

The self-study form (Question 6.2) has been updated to encourage each unit to submit plans or ideas for significant changes to its operations, structure, offerings, or personnel designed to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Academic deans and chairs were informed of this change to the form, and an example of what the Provost’s Office is looking for can be found on the WVU Provost’s website.

Inviting Faculty and Staff Feedback

Department chairs and academic leaders are expected to give faculty and staff the opportunity to provide feedback on the self-study. Faculty may use the online comment form to submit feedback, if needed.
